With an illustrious career spanning over four decades, Kristi Harris has not only dedicated herself to the art of teaching but has also emerged as a beacon for educators seeking mastery in the Orton-Gillingham approach to reading.

Her deep understanding of the Orton-Gillingham approach has been honed through years of hands-on teaching, shaping the literacy journey of countless students from kindergarten to high school.
Beyond the classroom, she has played a pivotal role in shaping the educational landscape in Indiana by training more than 4,000 teachers on the Orton-Gillingham approach to reading, contributing significantly to the dissemination of this impactful methodology.
She recently retired from The Orchard School, a private school in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she provided reading support to elementary students with learning differences such as dyslexia. She now tutors individuals and small groups of children through her private tutoring practice.

Kristi holds a master’s degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from Butler University. She received the Shirley Luhn Steele Excellence in Education Award from the Indiana branch of the Orton-Dyslexia Society and has been nominated to be featured in the books Who's Who Among American Teachers and Who's Who Among America's Administrators.
